This Master of Education coursework is designed for teachers, principals, community educators, youth workers, policy-makers and other professionals whose work has an educational component or responsibility.
This discipline involves a background in health sciences. Clinical and administrative skills are developed through educational courses that focus on health services management as well as practical science application. The course takes place both in a clinical setting and in the classroom, as well as internship placement in health facilities such as provincial, community and small hospitals.
Travail et expérience
Full-time (National staff) - Provide technical and administrative support to the Ministry of Health in the administration of the Quality Healthcare Improvement Initiative (08/2022 to 06/2023) and National Rehabilitation Strategy (10/2023 to 04/2024).
Part-time (Project Manager) - Manage the entire process of the project (from proposal development to reporting). The project empowers youth to lead various activities for positive impacts on their communities. Phase 1 from 11/2022 to 07/2023 and phase 2 from 10/2023 to 09/2024.
Part-time (Healthcare Support Worker) - Provided personal care (showering, dressing, bowel care and feeding), and general assistance, including social engagement and recreational activities for people with disabilities. Also, managed medical equipment and procurement, and trained new support workers for clients.
Full-time (Healthcare Volunteer) - Supported and participated in the elders’ daily routines and provided companionship. Also, organized and facilitated well-being activities such as exercise, games, and leisure activities.
Full-time (Medical Academic Staff, volunteer contract) - Provided support for the academic and administrative work at the Medical Unit of the Academic Department, including supervising a medical class, leading interns, and providing lectures.
Part-time (Healthcare Assistant) - Assisted with nursing tasks during the first 2 years (e.g., took vital signs and practised nursing procedures). Then, after graduation, assisted with doctor assistant tasks during the last 4 years (e.g., diagnosed medical conditions, treated illnesses, prescribed, undertook medical procedures and provided health instruction and consultations).
